History
Founded over 25 years ago, Compton & Woodhouse are a UK based company specialising in various collectables, ranging from plates and figurines to jewellery and bears.
With a successful career in figurine design behind her, Elisabeth Woodhouse combined her own expertise with that of Mike Compton, who was a director at Lawleys By Post, part of the world famous Royal Doulton company, to form Compton & Woodhouse. Their combination of specialist experience meant that Compton & Woodhouse quickly established a reputation as the premier mail order collectables company in the UK.
Although the original founders are no longer with the company, Compton & Woodhouse remains true to its founding values of supplying a beautiful range of collectables, using only the very best designers to achieve this goal.
Figurines
Perhaps Compton & Woodhouse’s most famous collections are its figurines. The very first Compton & Woodhouse product was the figurine by Coalport called “The Goose Girl”. This figurine was sold as a limited edition of 9,400 and was created commemorate the 200th Anniversary of the Brothers Grimm. Figurines continue to be a popular part of the Compton & Woodhouse company and the collections sold by the company today include prestigious brand names such as Royal Doulton, Waterford and Royal Worcester, with designs by some of the top names in the industry.
Compton & Woodhouse is now famous for its Royal Bride figurines, a collectable set, its most popular to date being Diana, a Coalport figurine. Since the more recent Royal Wedding, renowned designer Carolyn Morton was commissioned to create a figurine of Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge for Compton & Woodhouse.
